The Middle
A book about mental health redemption. Or mid-breakdown hallucinations. Or a treatise on reasons not to travel nomadically with children. You decide.
Writing came to me unexpectedly one morning while I was in the midst of a mental breakdown in what I like to call 'the lost years'.
Mauled by insomnia, I lay in bed and had the most incredible visual experience of my life. It was the story of a young boy in New York who found himself trapped in a mafia shootout during a charity banquet he was attending. It became the pilot screenplay for a crime thriller called 'Carter' which I developed soon after.
Next came a cat and mouse thriller called 'Remote Control' following the life of a former tech maven. And after that a musical, Baron, set in the 19th century London.
In 2020 I published my debut book, a mental health memoir called 'The Middle'. It never made the Sunday Times bestsellers list or landed a Pulitzer nomination (yet) but I did help a lot of folk by breathing life into my story and daring to share it. Myself included.
A book about mental health redemption. Or mid-breakdown hallucinations. Or a treatise on reasons not to travel nomadically with children. You decide.
